Who buys it. Who wins it. At what price.

GeM publishes the bids and it publishes the awards. It joins neither to the other. We do — category by category — so a bidder can see the buyers worth chasing, the sellers already taking the volume, the thresholds that decide eligibility, and the clauses that throw bids out.

Inside every report

Five questions, answered from the record rather than from opinion

01

Who buys, and how often

Every buying organisation active in the category, ranked by order count and value, with the months they buy in.

02

Who wins, and how much

The sellers taking the largest share of awards, their order counts and values, and how concentrated the category is.

03

What the tenders demand

Turnover thresholds, experience requirements, EMD levels and scoring weights, read from the bid documents themselves.

04

Where bids are lost

The disqualification clauses that recur in this category, quoted from the tenders they appear in.

05

Price bands

Where award values cluster, so a bidder knows what a competitive number looks like before quoting.

A seller league table is a claim about named companies' revenue. We will not publish an estimated one to make this page look fuller. The categories below are the ones being built first — every bid behind them is already being read.

  • Manpower Outsourcing Services

    Soon

The largest services category by bid count, and the one where minimum-wage arithmetic decides the winner.

  • Laboratory & Scientific Instruments

    Soon

Global tenders, OEM authorisation, and specification tables that decide qualification before price.

  • Cables & Electrical Equipment

    Soon

High-volume, standards-bound, and dominated by a handful of repeat winners.

  • Office & Copier Paper

    Soon

Commodity buying at scale, where the whole contest is landed price and delivery terms.

  • Vehicle & Machinery Spares

    Soon

Defence and railways buy these constantly; eligibility turns on past supply to the same buyer.

  • Housekeeping & Facility Services

    Soon

Statutory compliance — EPF, ESI, bonus — is where bids are disqualified, not on price.

Category research is for subscribers

The written analysis on this site stays free — that is the part that helps everyone understand how procurement works. The category record is different: it takes weeks of collection per category and it tells a bidder where the money actually goes. That one is paid.

Tell us which category you sell into and we will build it next, and price it before we start. Early subscribers shape the order the categories are researched in.

How the data is built

  1. 01Every live bid in the category is collected from the portal, with the documents it links to.
  2. 02Figures are extracted by fixed rules, each carrying the page and sentence it came from.
  3. 03Award records are joined to the bids to show who won, at what value.
  4. 04Nothing is published that cannot be traced back to a source document.
